Street Lighting



HEPCo has special teams for lighting and decorating Hebron streets. Street lighting is crucial; because it is HEPCo's mirror of the City of Hebron.


Street Lighting Unit Duties

  • Installing new lighting units.
  • Decorating the City of Hebron in holidays, religious and social events.
  • Monitoring traffic lights.
  • Installing temporary lighting cables at social events (upon customer request).
  • Repairing lighting units regularly


Main Projects for 2017

• Installation of 7 central poles in the Al-Moqataa Street.

• Installation of a-16-meter octagonal pole in Bab Al-Zawyeh area.

• Installation of 194 LED lighting units, 120 watts, in Al-Tahreer and Al-Hawoz streets, within the Palestinian Power Authority Project.

• Installation of 4 m decorative lighting poles in Bab Al-Zawyeh (37 poles).

• Installation of a triple lighting pole in Ein Qashqaleh .

• Installing 11,400 m of decoration cables in celebration of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

• Installing Ramdan Lantern in Ibn Rushd Circle.

• Installing 11 lighting units in Wadi Al Ghros Street .

• Installing 22 lighting poles in St. Luke Street .

• Installing 8 decorative lighting poles in Al-Manara Circle.

• Installing 8 lighting poles in Wad Al-Nasara – Al-Kassarah Street .

• Re-operating traffic lights at the northern entrance of Hebron.


• Ras Al-Joura:

20 decoration poles were added at the middle of the street (40 lighting units of 250 Watt), and 43 lighting poles were added on the pavement of (4 m High) and 43 lighting units of 100 W were added on these poles.


• Al-Bassa Street:

8 central poles were installed with 20 LED light units with a capacity of 100 watts.

• Al-Shuhada' (Martyrs) Mosque: A quadrant lighting pole was installed in addition wo 4 LED light units of 100 watts.


• Diwan Al-Jabari Street:

45 LED lighting units of (100W) were installed.


• Khallat Al-Qubbeh:

25 LED lighting units of (70W) were installed.


• Korea Palestine Center:

The old 400-watt lighting units were replaced with 15 LED lighting units of 150 watts.


  • New Shalaleh Street:

18 lighting poles were added with 100 Watt lighting units.

The second part of Mar Luka (St. Luke) Street:

16 poles of decorative lighting were added (Height: 10 m) (with LED lighting units of 150 W), and 4 poles of (4 m) (100 W).


• Al-Tahreer Circle:

12 LED lighting units of 120 W were installed.

• The street opposite to Royal Gas Station: 5 LED lighting units (100W) were installed.

• Al-Salam Street: Old (250W) lighting units have been replaced with (126) LED lighting units of (100W).

• Smart lighting units:

10 smart lighting units of (150W) were installed between Ibn Rushd and Al-Manara circles.
